Recycling… a gesture respectful of the environment

Around 12 billion corks are sold worldwide every year. As well as increasing the reuse of raw materials, recycling allows you to extend the life cycle of cork stoppers. Therefore, it is not only possible to reduce the costs associated with the production of other products with high added value, but also TO CONTRIBUTE TO A CLEANER WORLD.

The cork stoppers absorb the CO2 particles that they “inherited” from the bark of the cork oak, a tree that has the important ability to retain this gas, which causes the greenhouse effect. If they are decomposed or incinerated, CO2 is released into the atmosphere and contributes to global warming. Conversely, recycling allows you to extend the CO2 retention capacity of the cork. In each ton of cork stoppers about 1.83 tons of CO2 are stored which, once recycled, are guaranteed forever, since the reuse of this raw material is unlimited.

THIS IS THE CHOICE OF FIELD THAT HAS DRIVEN CORK TO INVEST IN TECHNOLOGY TO CREATE AN INNOVATIVE FUTURE ABLE TO REPLACE WITH NATURE.

OAKS

OAKS

The cork boards are extracted from the oak without damaging the tree.

WINE STOPPERS

WINE STOPPERS

The cork is transformed into wine corks and the latter, after being used, are collected for recycling.

SHREDDING

SHREDDING

In the recycling process, the caps are shredded and turned into granulate.

OTHER PRODUCTS
